Technique

The intervention of reduction of labia minora or nymphoplasty or labiaplasty returns to these a proportionate size, without incurring an excessive decrease. There are several techniques, but the most used is the direct amputation of excess tissue in the anteroposterior direction. We did not use this technique, but designed a wedge resection to preserve sensitivity and naturalness to the maximum, thus leaving an oblique and not anteroposterior scar, which could have repercussions for example at the time of distention as a birth canal. With the patient in a gynecological position, topical infiltration of anesthesia and marking of the surface to be removed is performed, allowing closure by means of an anterosuperior triangular flap. The excess is resected and careful control of bleeding is performed. The wound is then closed with a resorbable suture, leaving all or most of the internal points, without needing to be removed.

Recovery

→FIRST 48 HOURS:

  • The labiaplasty or nymphoplastic operation is performed under local anesthesia and does not require hospitalization, except in some cases.

→FIRST WEEK:

  • The taking of anti-inflammatories and antibiotic therapy will be prescribed to prevent infections.
  • Bruising and swelling may appear in the area, it is also not unusual that initially the tense and annoying areas are noticed, with some alterations in sensitivity.
