Technique

This technique is carried out through liquid nitrogen, which produces a drop in temperature in the tissue until the zone is frozen, for the subsequent removal of the lesion. It is a cold burn, which is produced by the air under pressure of liquid nitrogen.
First, to carry out this treatment, the area is disinfected, then the maximum cold application is applied to the skin to be treated. With this treatment we can eliminate tumor lesions, moles, seborrheic keratosis, actinic keratosis, spots, angiomas … in short, all types of malignant or benign skin lesions of the skin.
For this technique a swab is used as an applicator, which is immersed in liquid nitrogen to apply directly on the skin for complete freezing of the area between 5 and 20 seconds, depending on the size of the lesion. After proceeding to the extirpation of the aforementioned injuries.
Once the treatment is done, a scab or darkening of the skin is created in the area, with the appearance of a burn. Sometimes a blister or a scar may appear, normally all these signs are cured in a few days.
It is one of the most used techniques for the elimination of superficial imperfections of the skin, it is a controlled burn. It is a simple intervention with few contraindications, and for which no previous care is needed. Of course, when dealing with a wound, should be avoided in patients who have a bad healing.
Cryotherapy does not require the use of local anesthesia, and is usually a treatment with little discomfort and rapid recovery.

Care

It is an intervention that hardly requires post-surgical care.
It is advisable to apply an antiseptic to avoid infections in the area, and if an infection aspect is observed, it is necessary to go to a medical center for its review.
In addition, the treated area should be washed with special caution once or twice a day, and the use of dressings or bandages if it is an area that rubs with clothes.
It is also important not to forget the application of sunscreen during the first weeks to prevent the treated skin from pigmenting.
It is a treatment for injuries that should not be analyzed under a microscope.
Before carrying out the treatment, it is necessary to disinfect the area to be treated.
