Abdominoplasty is the surgery by which excess skin and fat is removed from the lower abdomen, which is usually not removed with exercise and diet. Additionally, the elastic fibers of the skin may have ruptured and have given rise to the appearance of stretch marks, which are usually located in the lower half of the abdomen, over the area that will be removed during the tummy tuck. With this procedure we reposition the rectus abdominis muscles, separated by weakness, pregnancy sequelae or weight changes. We also reposition the navel to the correct height, to reshape the figure getting a narrower waist and a firm abdomen. In some cases it is convenient to combine this operation with flank liposuction. Simultaneous repair of abdominal hernias is possible.

Abdominoplasty intervention is performed under general anesthesia and requires one or two days of hospitalization. An incision is made above the pubis, previously marked so that it is hidden under the underwear. All the excess skin and fat is elevated, generally all the inferior one to the navel, the plication of the abdominal rectus muscles is done to give firmness and to refine the waist and it is finalized by repositioning the navel in its new location, at the correct height. Once the excess tissue has been removed, the different planes are sutured and the pressotherapy garment is placed. In case it was a lipo-abdominoplasty, it is first performed by the liposuction process with Agualipo flanks.
