The presence of breasts that give female appearance in men is called gynecomastia. It can be due to a multitude of factors (pharmacological, genetic, weight changes, etc.). In some cases, especially in adolescents and newborns, they are spontaneously reversible, but in most cases they will require surgical intervention to eliminate them. It can develop at the level of one breast or both.

Based on the fact that gynecomastia may have a glandular or fatty majority component, we can highlight two types of techniques: in the first case, the mammary gland must be excised with a scalpel, and for this it is necessary to make an incision in the lower flange of the areola. In the case of firm and toned skin and predominantly fatty breasts, on the other hand, the procedure indicated would be water-assisted liposuction (agualipo of body jet) of the fatty accumulation. In both cases, the skin must be firm to be able to adapt to the new shape and size, otherwise it will be necessary to remove the excess skin, usually leaving an almost invisible scar on the border of the areola. With this procedure it is also possible to reduce the areolas to the size desired by the patient. The intervention of gynecomastia or breast removal in men can be performed with local anesthesia and sedation and does not require hospitalization.
